Ian Welham, Senior Partner
If Ian looks familiar, it’s because you’ve probably seen him on TV or on the Internet, or heard him on the radio. He is a nationally known college expert and author. His specialty is how paying for college affects retirement and vice versa, and the best way to plan for both.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, Ian moved out of public practice and became CFO of a Barcelona-based publicly traded company. He also held CEO and COO positions in Hong Kong, The Netherlands, Belgium and the US for a global fashion and apparel corporation.
He co-founded Complete College Planning Solutions to educate parents who agree that college costs have gotten out of control. His clients are mostly “forgotten” middle class families who desire a top public or private university education for their children. They are willing to pay their “fair share” but see no reason to overpay when money is available to them. Thousands of parents have attended his free community workshops and learned how to dramatically lower the college bill, even if you make a comfortable six-figure income.
Ian is a regular guest on TV, radio and in the press, including featured college expert on AOL Finance, as well as WPIX Channel 11, News12 NJ, the Newark Star-Ledger, The Daily Beast, and Home News Tribune.
Ian and his wife Linda have been married for 25 years and have twin daughters, Heather and Francesca. He is a devoted Manchester United “football” fan, and an avid golfer.
